It’s not for the want of trying, though. According to Portuguese media outlet A Bola (Sunday print), translated by Sport Witness, Manchester United are preparing an offer for the 24-year-old playmaker Bruno Fernandes.
It’s claimed that United are ‘moving in for the kill’ and they should present a bid tomorrow, with the Red Devils set to bid over €70m (£64m) in order to beat out competition from Tottenham Hotspur.

Furthermore, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer sees Fernandes as a ‘priority’, with A Bola also claiming that the Portugal international could fly into England on Monday (today) or ‘as a limit’ Tuesday…
It does seem as though United are pushing hard to try and acquire a midfielder before Thursday’s rapidly approaching deadline and there’s no doubt Fernandes would bring something different to the table.
In 2018/19, Fernandes directly contributed to 50 goals, scoring 32 himself while tacking on 18 assists for his teammates. If he could continue that output then the deal could be an absolute masterstroke. Paul Pogba who…?
