Man United pressing ahead with a deal to sign Jadon Sancho: report

Man United are working hard to try and sign Jadon Sancho.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United are on an upwards trajectory. There’s a feeling one good transfer window and this current Red Devils side could well make a genuine title challenge.

The name that has been on everyone’s lips for the last few transfer windows has been Jadon Sancho. There was massive talk of a move last summer, though nothing came to fruition.

Well, here we are again and it’s The Athletic‘s Laurie Whitwell with an update for us. Apparently, United are ‘pressing ahead’ with talks to sign the talented 21-year-old, who lit up the Bundesliga in 2020/21.

What’s interesting is that the hope is rising that a deal can be done, though as of right now, the two clubs are some way apart in their valuation; £20millon in fact…

The Reds are prepared to commit to a deal totalling £80million, though Dortmund are holding out for an extra £20million in add-ons and bonuses.

In an ideal world, United would complete a deal before the European Championships, though there’s an acceptance that Sancho’s participation with England has meant there are ‘added complications’.

When you’re talking about these mega-money deals, they always take time. It doesn’t help that United are notoriously slow negotiators and I’d be seriously surprised if this transfer is even close to happening before the start of EURO 2020 in one weeks’ time.

Despite the gap in valuation, I’m confident about this deal. This is just a basic negotiating tactic from Dortmund as they want to get every single last penny out of United, while the Reds are doing all they can to keep the price down.

Fingers crossed we have a new right-winger come the start of 2021/22 though…
