Manchester United need at least two midfielders, maybe three if Paul Pogba gets his wish and departs from Old Trafford.
Last night, a new (but old) name has been thrown into the ring. It’s that of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic, who was constantly linked with a move to United last summer.
The story comes from SportMediaSet, who state that Lazio’s director, Igli Tare, is in London, England, to hear proposals from English clubs for the 24-year-old central player.
Apparently, according to SportMediaSet, United in particular are ‘pressing’ to sign Milinkovic-Savic this summer.
The report also adds that Lazio’s asking price for their star man has lowered. Last summer they wanted €120m (£107.6m) to let Milinkovic-Savic leave. This time around, they could settle for €80m (£71.7m).
It’s also suggested that United could push for a deal for Milinkovic-Savic even before Pogba leaves, which would make sense as the Reds look to prepare for every eventuality.
At this stage, I’m just bored with Pogba and I want him gone. There’s no doubt that the Old Trafford club would have to spend pretty hefty money on a replacement, though, because the Frenchman is obviously extremely talented.
I’m sort of old-school in the regard that if the player doesn’t want to be here then I don’t want him around. I don’t care how good he is, and for what it’s worth, I still don’t think he’s lived up to the price-tag.
Milinkovic-Savic isn’t a player I’ve seen an awful lot of over the last twelve months, but he must be doing something right due to the price-tag slapped on his head.
