Man United are working hard to sign Wolves’ talented defender, Wes Okoduwa, this summer.

I maintain my belief that Manchester United have always performed better when signing younger players, rather than splashing the cash on the ready-made marquee footballers.

Erik ten Hag has tried to continue believing in youth since being appointed boss, with the likes of Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho now flourishing. It makes sense for the club to continue to hoover up young talents from all across the world.

One man the club apparently have eyes on is young Wolverhampton right-back, Wes Okoduwa. It’s reputable X account @TheSecretScout_ with the scoop. According to his latest information, United are ‘pushing to sign’ the talented right-back this summer.

Okoduwa has already represented his country (England) at youth level, while also earning a place in a senior match-day squad against Newcastle a couple of weeks ago.

I wouldn’t say right-back is a position of need as things stand, though I’m still not convinced the gaffer is fully trusting in both Diogo Dalot and Aaron Wan-Bissaka.

The pair have hardly set the world alight since joining the club, though Okoduwa isn’t someone who could come in and challenge straight away. This is certainly a signing for the future, as opposed to the here and now.

If signed, Okoduwa would be moving to the best club in the country when it comes to player development. Hence, I can see the full-back being more than interested in making this transfer.

Do you think a Man United move to sign Wes Okoduwa would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
