Man United may have themselves a Paul Pogba contract problem, though the Red Devils are apparently eyeing his countryman, Eduardo Camavinga, as a replacement…
Pogba’s current contract in Manchester expires next summer, though the 20-time Premier League champions do hold the option for a further year. However, you get the distinct impression that the former Juventus man isn’t planning on sticking around beyond that.
Seemingly, the Red Devils have that thought, too. And according to AS‘ Monday print edition, translated by Sport Witness, the Old Trafford club are planning for the future.
Enter Eduardo Camavinga. Apparently, United have ‘put in place the mechanism’ to sign the talented midfielder, should his countryman Pogba decide to leave the Red Devils.
Due to Camavinga’s contract also in 2022, there’s a belief that the emerging starlet will be available to sign for a reasonable price from Rennes.

United wouldn’t have it all their own way, though…
Apparently, Camavinga was close to sealing a move to Real Madrid, before COVID-19 scuppered any chance of that move happening.
Now, AS state that United are posing a ‘great threat’ to Los Blancos, for the midfielder who’ll be available next summer.
If it’s a straight race between United and Madrid to sign Camavinga, you’d imagine we’ll come off second-best. However, don’t forget that Pogba is already flirting with Zinedine Zidane’s side. Madrid could well sign United’s number six, leaving us with a free shot at acquiring Camavinga.
We’re talking about a young man who has the potential to take the footballing-world by storm. While United is a club with rich history and traditions when it comes to developing youth.
Who knows, Camavinga could well find himself partnering another up-and-comer, Hannibal Mejbri, at the heart of the midfield in the not too distant future…
