Four Man United young players were given the chance to train with the first team today.
Manchester United Football Club are preparing for what has become a massive game at home to Nottingham Forest. Erik ten Hag will feel the pressure mounting. Only a victory here will do.
Ahead of the game, the gaffer is using this opportunity to get a closer look at the next generation. The usually reliable Steven Railston took to Twitter to state that four United starlets trained with the senior squad today. Hence, their absence against Stockport last night.
All of Hannibal Mejbri, Isak Hansen-Aaroen, Omari Forson and Marc Jurado were absent as the U21s won on penalties yesterday evening. Now, they’re all set to be given the chance to impress the gaffer in a session with the senior squad.
Check out Steven Railston’s tweet here:
This is a massive opportunity for all of them. Whether they take that chance is up to the four players individually. Ten Hag’s made a point to show that you’ll have to force your way into the mix, rather than be handed minutes at the highest level. That’s exactly the way it should be.
These players all have the skill and ability to do exactly that. I’d imagine Hannibal is the closest to making the leap. He had a good pre-season and was heavily involved.
In terms of raw talent and ability, though, I love Hansen-Aaroen. The young attacking midfielder is a stunning footballer who is perfect for this system. He looked far too good for youth level and I do believe he’s ready to make that next step. A loan would probably suit.
Marc Jurado and Omari Forson may find it pretty tough. At least in the short term. Both have work to do still, while rising up the pecking order may be tough due to the sheer amount of bodies in front of them…
Do you think any of the four are good enough to make it at Man United? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
