Man United re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus

Manchester United have re-signed Cristiano Ronaldo from Juventus.

The deal is done and confirmed. Manchester United Football Club have announced that Cristiano Ronaldo has re-joined them, on a two-year deal with the option for a third season.

On Friday morning, it looked for all the world like the Greatest Player of All Time was heading to Manchester City. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was never going to allow that to happen, swooping in at the last minute.

With a little help from Sir Alex Ferguson, Bruno Fernandes and a whole host of former players, Ronaldo decided to move back to the club who helped him become the greatest footballer to ever live.

Now, at the ripe old age of 36, the Old Trafford Faithful will get to belt out ‘Viva Ronaldo’ from the terraces every week. The excitement is through the roof.

You don’t need me to tell you how insane this player is. You don’t need me to tell you what this means to us Red Devils supporters. It’s everything.

Nothing can ever top this feeling for me, in terms of a completed transfer anyway. Ronaldo gave so much for this club as a youngster. Now, he’s back to get us on the right track once again.

Sure, he’s not the player he once was, but the impact he can have on that field and in that dressing room cannot be understated. This man is a winner. This man is a leader. This man is an exceptional talent. To have him back home is still leaving me pinching myself.

Cristiano Ronaldo said:

“Manchester United is a club that has always had a special place in my heart, and I have been overwhelmed by all the messages I have received since the announcement on Friday. I cannot wait to play at Old Trafford in front of a full stadium and see all the fans again. I’m looking forward to joining up with the team after the international games, and I hope we have a very successful season ahead.”

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer said:

“You run out of words to describe Cristiano. He is not only a marvellous player, but also a great human being. To have the desire and the ability to play at the top level for such a long period requires a very special person. I have no doubt that he will continue to impress us all and his experience will be so vital for the younger players in the squad. Ronaldo’s return demonstrates the unique appeal of this club and I am absolutely delighted he is coming home to where it all started.”

Welcome home, Cristiano!
