Well, Manchester United fans, it’s finally time to get excited!
The usually reliable David Ornstein, who works for the BBC has spoken. After what feels like weeks of long, drawn-out negotiations, it seems as though United have reached a breakthrough in their pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka from Crystal Palace.
Ornstein says that an agreement is now in place to sign the super-talented 21-year-old in a deal worth £50million. The player will head to Manchester ‘imminently’ for a medical, where he’ll sign his long-term contract.
Another good bit of news is the fact that United have managed to retain the sell-on clause in Wilfried Zaha’s contract, as Palace were trying hard to get that removed during negotiations. If Zaha is sold for £70+million, the Reds could net a nice £15million+ of that…
Wan-Bissaka looks all set to become United’s second summer signing with Ole Gunnar Solskjaer already adding Daniel James to the squad. It’s clear what the Baby Faced Assassin is trying to achieve as he looks to add young, preferably British talent to his ranks.
I’d argue that over the last twelve months, Wan-Bissaka has been the best defensive right-back in the country. Although the offensive side of his game does need work, his three assists that he picked up last year already puts him ahead of Ashley Young in my estimations.
Hopefully, it shouldn’t be too long before we see our new man all-smiles holding the United jersey aloft.
