Manchester United are yet to replace Marouane Fellaini who left in January, while Ander Herrera has also walked away from the club since.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer likely has a new midfielder atop his list of priorities. One name keeps popping up; Bruno Fernandes. Just a few days ago, we covered a story from The Metro which claimed that the Reds are now frontrunners to sign the super-talented 24-year-old.
Anyway, we’ve been given another update in Fernandes’ proposed United move. Radio Rossonera journalist Pietro Balzano Prota has made a bold claim on his social media page…
While responding to a fan, Prota has claimed that an ‘agreement has been reached’ by United and Lisbon, with the two clubs working on the ‘last details’ of a potential transfer.
Prota adds that United are ‘very close’ to signing the prolific midfielder who scored 31 goals across all competitions last season. That’s despite ‘various clubs’ being interested in the player.
To further the report from Prota, The Sun reckon that Fernandes is rated at £70million, while United are also keen on signing his international teammate, Joao Felix…
United not only need to improve the quality coming from midfield but they also need to bolster in terms of sheer numbers. Fernandes would be the ideal signing, and dare I say, he’d be the perfect replacement for Paul Pogba should the Frenchman leave Old Trafford during this transfer window.
