Manchester United need to prioritise the signing of a striker when the January window rolls around. The decision to let Romelu Lukaku leave without replacement is already biting the Red Devils on the behind.
Anyway, rumours to one man just will not go away; Mario Mandzukic. The Croatia international has fallen out of favour in Turin under Maurizio Sarri and he could well be available.
It does seem as though the 20-time Premier League champions are already making their move, too. The story comes from Tuttosport’s Sunday print edition, translated via Sport Witness. Their story claims that United have reached a ‘broad agreement’ to sign the attacker – with the transfer to happen in January.

Furthermore, Tuttosport add that a ‘total agreement’ could be reached in the coming days, while a transfer being reached could lead to the player physically arriving in Manchester in December – potentially a full month before the move officially goes through.
This squad is young and perhaps it could do with a sprinkle of experience adding into it. There’s no doubt that Mandzukic would bring that in abundance, while his versatility could also be something Ole Gunnar Solskjaer could certainly use – particularly amid an injury crisis.
The only issue is that you’ll only get a year, two max, out of Mandzukic before he’ll need replacing. It does sort of go against everything the Baby Faced Assassin has stood for over the last few months or so…
