Manchester United boss Jose Mourinho is ready to axe both Matteo Darmian and Luke Shaw in January, The Sun writes in an exclusive.
On top of that, the self-proclaimed Special One will be given a huge £80million to spend during the mid-season transfer window, as the Red Devils look to keep up the pressure on Manchester City at the top of the table.
The Portuguese boss met with club officials last week to thrash out transfer plans, and it seems as though both Darmian and Shaw have been put on the chopping block. Based on the season so far, you’d struggle to disagree with the decision if United do part with the pair.
Since his arrival at Old Trafford, it has just been problem after problem for Shaw which is a huge shame. That doesn’t take away from the talent that he possesses, but you just get the feeling that Mourinho has had enough with the 22-year-old.
Then we move onto Matteo Darmian. How this guy is still playing top level football is beyond me. Seriously, I have more pace than he does, and sometimes, the opposing wingers just blow past him as if he isn’t there.
Finally, The Sun says that Mourinho is targeting a left-back, a right-winger and a creative midfielder. Whether he’ll acquire all those in January is another question entirely.
