Manchester United are keen on signing Tottenham Hotspur’s Danny Rose in January, according to Tuttomercatoweb, translated by The Sun.
Apparently, Jose Mourinho has held a longstanding interest in the Englishman, who is yet to take to the field following an injury he suffered back in January.
As we all know, left-back has been a real problem area for the Red Devils over the last few years, and it must be extremely frustrating if you’re Mourinho.
We have Luke Shaw who’s supremely talented but he can never get himself fit. Ashley Young is a solid option, but that’s about it. Then we have both Daley Blind and Matteo Darmian who are just above average.
It’s a key position, particularly in the modern-day game and you can fully understand why Mourinho is considering bringing someone in mid-season.
However, I’d have my reservations about Doncaster-born Rose. He, like Shaw, has a rather concerning injury record and it just doesn’t make sense bringing him in. On top of that, Spurs would charge an astronomical transfer fee to let him leave – which would only be heightened in the January mid-season window. Will this deal happen? Probably not in my opinion.
