Man United ready to accept ‘big hit’ to cash in on Anthony Martial

Man United are struggling to find buyers for Anthony Martial this summer.

With several players already confirmed to be leaving upon the end of their contracts, Manchester United are still seemingly looking to trim down the squad before investing in new signings.

Amongst the players whose future remains up in the air is Anthony Martial. The Frenchman struggled under both Ole Gunnar Solskajer and Ralf Rangncik last term, before being moved to Sevilla on loan.

Now Martial is back in the headlines again. This time it’s The Sun with the latest information. Apparently, United are ‘having a nightmare’ trying to find a buyer for the Frenchman.

Now, it’s being claimed the Reds are ready to accept a ‘big hit’ on the struggling 26-year-old who looks supremely low on confidence right now.

Offers of around £20million will now be listened to by United, for a man who they paid almost £40million to sign back when Louis van Gaal was in charge.

This is absolutely something the club were expecting. After all, Martial’s form hasn’t been great over the last couple of seasons, with the player not really developing as much as we’d all have hoped at this point.

Martial’s £240,000-a-week wages also present a problem. There’s a great chance that no club wants to take up those demands, meaning United would somehow have to subsidise those costs until his contract expiry in a couple of years.

Simply put, all roads seem to lead to Martial remaining at the Theatre of Dreams next season, as moving him away from United could be too pricey.

It’s easy to forget how talented Martial is. And perhaps under a new manager, the ex-AS Monaco man will return to his best. I guess it’s time to cross our fingers in that regard.
