Man United are looking to sign Napoli centre-back, Kim Min-jae.
For all of Erik ten Hag’s positive work, this squad still needs some attention in many areas. A new striker, goalkeeper, midfielder and centre-back would not go amiss. Achieving all those players in one window, while club ownership remains up in the air, is going to be easier said than done.
Today’s rumour discusses the prospect of Napoli centre-back, Kim Min-jae, making the move to Manchester.
It’s Italian media outlet Corriere dello Sport (Tuesday print edition) with the claim. Shout out to Sport Witness for the translation. They seem pretty convinced United will move for the defender.
Ten Hag has made the man from South Korea his ‘great goal’ this summer, with a release clause coming into effect in early July, meaning he’d be available for about £44m (€50m).
Apparently, United are ‘ready to bring’ the 26-year-old to the club ‘immediately’ by paying the release clause.
As fantastic as it’d be to see Min-jae play for United, you get the feeling it’s not as straightforward as that.

You’d have to factor in other potential buyers, as Min-jae’s stock has risen drastically after his brilliant performances this season.
You also have to consider the possibility that Min-jae decides to stay in Naples. After all, he’s just won the Serie A with that club, who have made great progress all across the board.
From a United standpoint, if they could somehow pull this off, it’d be an incredible piece of business. Having Raphael Varane, Lisandro Martinez, Victor Lindelof and Min-jae as your four centre-backs would send out a real message to the rest of the league.
Hopefully, these rumours turn out to be true.
