Man United ready to fight for signature of Jhon Duran

Man United are keen to sign Jhon Duran, who is currently playing in MLS.

Manchester United Football Club are slowly seeing their squad overhauled under Erik ten Hag.

The Red Devils are moving in a different direction under their new manager – and so far, it has been wonderful to watch.

It’s going to take time under the gaffer has a dressing room full of players that fit Ten Hag’s style. Only then will we see the full capabilities of the Dutchman’s excellent managerial style.

Over the weekend, we missed a story from The Sun, who linked United with a move for MLS starlet, Jhon Duran.

Apparently, United want to fight Liverpool for the signature of the Chicago Fire winger.

The Sun’s American insiders claim United and Ten Hag associates have been ‘in contact’ over potentially signing the 18-year-old, while the Reds are ‘keen to buy’ the £10m-rated Colombia international.

According to the story, Duran’s agent and family members have travelled to England recently, while they’re also speaking to teams from both here in the UK as well as Spain.

OTF’s verdict

It’s believed that Chicago Fire could be tempted to sell Duran after their disappointing season as a club. They may look to strike while the iron is hot.

If United are dead serious about bringing in Duran, supporters shouldn’t expect instant impact. This is a young teenager playing in a far weaker league than the Premier League. He would absolutely need plenty of time to settle and develop before he’s ready for serious first-team minutes.

It would be a relatively inexpensive deal for the Red Devils, which does make this a signing with minimal risk involved.
