Manchester United Football Club are heading towards arguably their most important transfer window since Sir Alex Ferguson decided to hang up the clipboard.

The Red Devils are in a good place right now, though further money has to be spent if they’re to continue moving up the table and get challenging for major honours.

Big money will have to be spent and today, a new name has been thrown into the mix; Saul Niguez.

The superstar Spaniard is apparently struggling to agree a new deal at his current club Atletico Madrid, with contract talks stalling. That’s according to Mundo Deportivo.

Because of that, United are now ‘ready a move’ for the superstar 25-year-old, though they’re not alone in that pursuit with Manchester City also doing the same.

Saul currently has a £140m (€150m) release clause in his contract, though MD explain that the figure doesn’t seem that substantial due to the fact that PSG forked out £200m+ to sign Neymar a few years ago.

There’s no doubt Saul is mega-talented and he’d improve any squad in the world. However, with Bruno Fernandes lighting up the Premier League, do we need another forward-thinking midfielder at this point? Particularly if Paul Pogba does end up staying?

Honestly, I’d much prefer to see this big-money spent elsewhere, but we’ll just have to wait and see what happens…
