Man United ready to offer Grealish £150k-a-week to make Old Trafford switch: report

As we all know, Manchester United signed Bruno Fernandes in a big-money deal in January, with the Old Trafford outfit looking to put some pressure on the Premier League’s top four.

However, signing Fernandes simply isn’t enough if the Reds want to challenge for major honours, year-in-year-out. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer needs another busy summer transfer window, with one name popping up more than most; Jack Grealish.

Yesterday, The Sun gave us another update in the brewing Grealish saga in the form of an exclusive. They state that United are ready to offer the superstar 24-year-old a huge £150,000-a-week deal – tripling the Englishman’s wages if he chooses to move to Old Trafford.

Apparently, Grealish is the Reds’ top summer target, following expressing their interest in January. Furthermore, they’re willing to pay ‘up to £60million’ to get their man.

United’s close rivals, Manchester City, are also keen on adding the Aston Villa star, though Grealish has reservations about the amount of playing time he’d get at The Etihad – which could well play into United’s hands.

I’ve said it time and time again. I’ve always been a James Maddison kinda’ guy, though over the last few months, Grealish’s performances have definitely changed my tune. The Englishman has that swagger and arrogance which is required at the highest level.

A lot will hinge on whether Aston Villa gets relegated, though. If they do go down, I’m not sure Grealish will be willing to play another season at Championship level. If the Villans stay up, maybe he’d consider sticking around, particularly as he only signed a new contract last September…
