Man United ready to sell Harry Maguire this summer as his contract winds down

Man United would be willing to sell Harry Maguire this summer, as the defender’s contract enters into its final twelve months.

Cast your mind back to last summer, when Manchester United almost sold Harry Maguire to West Ham United, but for the player himself to turn down the move.

The England international would go on to enjoy himself in 2023/24, proving his qualities, and remaining fit for large portions of the campaign. We would not have won the FA Cup without him.

However, that isn’t stopping United from looking to move on from the centre-half, with talkSPORT providing fresh information on that front.

They state that United are ‘willing’ to cash in on Maguire for the second summer in a row, with the £190k-a-week man attracting interest from Italy at this moment in time.

A centre-back is the top priority signing for United, with Bayern Munich’s Matthijs de Ligt being eyed at this point.

Despite the fact that the club have already lost Raphael Varane this summer, they’re open to a sale of Maguire, who they could lose on a free in twelve months time as his contract is winding down.

Maguire has bounced back remarkably after a torrid couple of years. He now has the Old Trafford Faithful back on side and he deserves all the credit in the world for that.

Football is a tough business, though, and United could brutally move on from Maguire here – assuming the player agrees to a move away this time around.

I still think Maguire is worth keeping, at least for another season, as his experience and quality could prove vital in a season where many things are changing. Even if it means losing an £80m signing for nothing next year.
