Man United receive huge boost, brilliant 29-year-old attacker would only cost them £31million: report

Manchester United had a transfer window to forget over the summer, with Jose Mourinho only getting three new players to work with. That failure has to be on Edward Woodward.

Now, though, with January on the horizon, the club have a great opportunity to right those wrongs and breathe some life into United. Just a month or so before the winter window opens, the Red Devils have been given a massive boost.

According to Calciomercato, translated by The Sun, United have been told that the brilliant Ivan Perisic could potentially cost them as little as £31million. This is a winger whom Mourinho is a massive fan of, and for the English amongst us, you’ll remember just how good he was against the Three Lions in the World Cup semi-final.

At 29, he’s experienced, knowledgeable, polished and ready to go. Apparently, Inter are trying to hold out for as much as £48million to let Perisic leave, but with some negotiating, he could go for £17million less.

This is a signing that could kickstart United’s season. His ability to play off either wing or up top is a huge asset, and the fact that he’ll work hard on both sides of the ball is a massive selling point for Mourinho. To me, this feels like a no-brainer. Now, it’s over to Woodward to look at getting this deal done in January.
