Man United are ‘comfortable’ with their position in regards to a new Alejandro Garnacho contract.

Remember the name, Alejandro Garnacho. It was a saying you’d hear a lot last season, with the Argentine looking like the real deal at youth level throughout the course of the 2021/22 campaign.

The teenager lit up the FA Youth Cup final with two goals, propelling his side to glory, beating Nottingham Forest 3-1.

That would be Garnacho’s final appearance at a youth age group. He’d make the leap to first-team football no sooner had Erik ten Hag walked through the door.

After a slow start due to some pre-season attitude issues, Garnacho has started to take the country by storm. Scoring, assisting and looking like a real threat in the biggest of moments.

Contract talks have been consistent recently, with United looking to improve the terms of the player, who currently pockets around £5,000-a-week at the Theatre of Dreams.

Well, in an exclusive, Utd District provide the latest. They say United are ‘comfortable’ with the contract situation of their emerging star, who is tied down until June 2025 with the option for a further year.

United have always been a club that pay their players earlier rather than later. Garnacho is the latest example of that. They’re looking to protect their asset, while giving the young man the value his ability deserves.

At the end of the day, we have to be realistic. Garnacho isn’t a local hero. He has a real affinity to Spain. When Real Madrid come calling (and they will), I struggle to see how United keep ahold of this young man.

However, if they can get another four or five years out of Garnacho, similar to how Cristiano Ronaldo’s career-path went, I think we’d all be delighted with that.

For now, it’s about enjoying the immense talent we have right in front of our eyes. This young man is as special as they come.
