Man United are still pushing hard to try and sign Jadon Sancho.
In a saga that’s probably going to roll on all summer, Manchester United’s interest in Jadon Sancho is still there.
According to Sky Sports, United remain in talks to sign the top 21-year-old, and as it stands, a move to the Reds is the ‘most realistic destination’ for the player.
As expected, a number of clubs are interested in signing Sancho, who could well be about to leave Borussia Dortmund after an excellent few years with the German outfit.
BVB are believed to be ready to listen to offers, though they’ve not publicly named their price or set a deadline for the transfer to happen.
From a United standpoint, personal terms aren’t expected to be a problem, as they reached that stage with the player when they tried to make the deal happen last summer.
What’s interesting? The asking price is set to drop from the £108m that Dortmund were asking for last summer. Dortmund could deal for around £80m, which, in this day and age, seems excellent value.
I know the wing positions isn’t United’s biggest need, but Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has been after Sancho for at least a couple of years. He’s a player who’d improve our squad massively, while also offering more room for rotation from game to game.
My big worry would be spending too much of the summer budget on this player, particularly when you’ve got holes to fix in both the midfield and defence. However, players like Sancho don’t come around very often so I fully understand why United want to get this deal done.
