Man United are still in the hunt to bring in Adrien Rabiot on a free transfer.
Manchester United Football Club have made five signings this summer. Erik ten Hag has to be pleased with the business conducted, with quality players added to a squad that certainly needed some extra help.
Apparently, the incoming business may not be complete, with a move for Adrien Rabiot still a realistic possibility.
According to TEAMtalk, United ‘remain in the mix’ to sign the top-class 29-year-old on a free transfer, with the Frenchman still without a team after leaving Juventus.
Newcastle United are also still in the hunt for Rabiot, with an offer already on the table from Galatasaray for the midfielder.
Rabiot remains without a team for now due to his high financial demands, which is why the World Cup winner hasn’t already sealed a return to the football field.
After selling Scott McTominay and Donny van de Beek, while Casemiro’s performances are leaving cause for concern, this could be an astute piece of business.
However, Rabiot’s demands are an issue for INEOS’ new business model, with the Red Devils keen on ensuring they do not overpay for players who are approaching their thirties.
The fact that Rabiot are keeping Galatasaray waiting means he isn’t completely sold on a move to Turkey. This could be United’s opportunity to pounce on a player who Ten Hag has tried to sign in each of the last three windows.
However, from a Red Devils’ standpoint, I’d be extremely wary about overpaying to bring in the Frenchman, who is seemingly willing to go to the highest bidder without really caring about playing his football.
