Man United remain interested in Declan Rice, who wants transfer in 2022: report

Man United are still keen on making a move for Declan Rice next summer.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s Manchester United had an excellent summer transfer window. From acquiring the world-class centre-back needed, to bringing home Cristiano Ronaldo, with a little Jadon Sancho thrown in for good measure.

Perhaps the only gripe United fans can have was the lack of a defensive-midfield signing. Sadly, though, it was always going to be tough to fix all those holes in one window.

Well, United remain intent on sorting that issue next summer. According to, United are amongst the clubs ‘very much interested’ in securing the signature of 22-year-old Declan Rice.

Apparently, Manchester City, Chelsea and Liverpool have also made it known they’d like to sign Rice next summer.

Furthermore, the top-class defensive midfielder has his sights set on a transfer away in 2022, though he remains fully committed to West Ham this term.

The player ‘fully expects’ this campaign to be his last at the London Stadium despite the fact that West Ham are considering offering Rice a new deal – even though his current terms don’t expire until 2024.

Rice has often been linked with a United move over the last couple of years, with the Englishman’s stock continuing to rise following an excellent summer with the Three Lions.

It does feel like a move to a big club is just around the corner for the midfielder, while there’s no doubt he’d improve this United squad endlessly.

The only reason he didn’t move this summer was due to West Ham’s hefty asking price. The Hammers want somewhere around £100m to let their homegrown hero leave, though I’m not sure any buying club would value him quite that highly…
