Man United are still keen on adding Brentford striker Ivan Toney to their squad.
Manchester United’s squad could still do with an out and out goal scorer, just to ease the burden on Rasmus Hojlund somewhat.
The Dane is yet to find the net in the Premier League, though he has still led the line well. I still have full faith in Hojlund. He could do with a little extra help, though, as Anthony Martial is plainly not good enough.
Among the names consistently linked with filling that void is Ivan Toney. The Brentford man is gearing up for a return after being suspended due to breaking betting rules, though he could be on the move in the not too distant future.
Sky Sports provide the latest on that story, once again, crediting United with interest in singing the 27-year-old, along with Chelsea and Arsenal.
Their sources state that the transfer could be difficult for United and Chelsea due to financial constraints, giving off a real vibe which suggests Arsenal are current favourites for the Englishman’s signature.

Will Ivan Toney be on the move in January? 👀🔴 pic.twitter.com/Gg1SLTIDss
We’ve said it before. I’ll say it again. I’d love Toney at Old Trafford, assuming he’s still the same player he was before his ban. He’s an out and out goal scorer and this is something United needs at this moment in time.
Toney would not come cheaply which is a massive issue, particularly if he’s on the move in the mid-season window. It also seems like he’d prefer an Arsenal switch at this point in time. We can hardly blame him for that.
If Toney stays at Brentford until the summer, United’s odds would surely increase, but even then, I reckon we’d need to have Champions League football on offer.
