Man United are still keen on signing Brighton midfielder, Moises Caideo.
Manchester United made some important signings over the summer, with Erik ten Hag slowly turning this squad into one that fits his system.
The overhaul will continue during the upcoming summer transfer window, with the Old Trafford club still needing further additions – whoever the owners may be at that time…
Moises Caicdeo is a name that was heavily linked with a United move just last summer. In the end, the man from Ecuador stayed put at Brighton.
He’s since signed a new contract, though that will not put off any potential suitors going into the next window, according to Football Insider.
Apparently, United are amongst the sides who remain interested in the 21-year-old defensive midfielder despite his new terms, though the Reds will face Premier League competition from Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool to sign the player.
Caicedo’s new Brighton terms were announced on Friday, with a deal running until 2027. To me, this just feels like the Seagulls trying to increase the transfer fee they’ll inevitably receive for one of their key players.
For United, finishing inside the top four is an absolute must if they are to stand any chance at signing Caicedo. He’s going to want to move to a team with Champions League football on offer, while the extra revenue it generates would also help out from a financial standpoint.
This would be the dream player to replace Casemiro in the long-run, though will Caicedo want to sit in behind the Brazilian for a couple of years before starting games regularly for United? That remains to be seen…
