Man United are still keen on Yves Bissouma.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer made some incredible signings over the summer, that much is obvious. Manchester United’s future is looking brighter than ever under the Baby Faced Assassin.

Us supporters only had one gripe; no midfielder was signed. The Old Trafford club are a little light in the defensive-midfield area, with Nemanja Matic and Fred struggling in particular.

One man consistently linked with a move to United is Brighton’s Yves Bissouma. The Malian has been brilliant for the South Coast club over the last couple of years – and he could be ready for that big move away.

Sadly for Bissouma, no club came in for him over the summer, though he shouldn’t give up hope. According to journalist Aden-Jay Wood, United, amongst other clubs, remain interested in signing the 25-year-old.

Wood also adds that there’s a belief a transfer could be revisited in the January window.

There’s no doubt that Bissouma would add another dimension to this United side. He’d bring that mobility, toughness and sheer willingness to win to an area of the park that needs it (Scott McTominay aside).

The man from Mali has Premier League experience, has shown his qualities against the best of the best and looks like someone who could slot right into our side.

I would’ve loved to see this move materialise over the summer but sadly, Solskjaer probably wasn’t granted the funds to make that happen. If United can clear some more dead-wood in the mid-season window, why shouldn’t the Red Devils try to strengthen at that point?

This is the sort of astute signing that could well tip us over the edge in a title race that’s going to be extremely close this year.

I don’t know about you, but I’d welcome Yves Bissouma to Old Trafford with open arms.
