Man United have revived their interest in Jude Bellingham.
Manchester United Football Club are slowly transitioning their squad into one that fits the Erik ten Hag style of play. This will take time.
Several additions were made over the summer. All of whom have made a positive early impression. Let’s hope that mantra continues going forward.
There can be no doubt that the next big name likely to come onto the transfer block is Jude Bellingham.
The England international already looks like an elite midfielder, which is a scary prospect given he’s only going to get better and better for years to come.
Well, it’s good to know the Reds are keen on bringing in Bellingham, after missing out on his services when he left Birmingham City a couple of years ago.
It’s the Daily Mirror (h/t @DiscoMirror) with the claim. They state that United have decided to ‘revive interest’ in signing the top-class 19-year-old. Their £100m pursuit of Bellingham will not be easy, mind…
The Old Trafford club face stiff competition, with both Manchester City and Liverpool also keen on bringing in the superstar midfielder.
Check out the Daily Mirror’s back page on the story here:
Only a handful of clubs will be able to afford Bellingham when he eventually decides to leave Borussia Dortmund. United, thankfully, fall into that bracket.
You’d imagine another absolute necessity for the Reds is to have Champions League football on the table. If Bellingham is to leave Dortmund next summer, that means a top-four finish is a must in 2022/23.
Even then, it’ll be tough to make a deal happen. United will probably have to let at least one midfielder leave in order to make room in the squad for Bellingham.
I’d feel confident about United being able to beat out Liverpool financially to secure this transfer, though City could be a problem. Ilkay Gundogan is looking set to leave their club next summer. They’re going to need to replace him…
