Man United have eyes on Bournemouth left-back, Milos Kerkez, amid injury struggles in that area of the field

Victor Lindelof was forced to start at left-back for Manchester United against Fulham over the weekend. With respect to the Swede, it’s a recipe for disaster.

Luke Shaw is now out until at least April, joining Tyrell Malacia in the left-back treatment room. We haven’t seen the Dutchman once this season.

Erik ten Hag is a manager who is always keen to learn from his mistakes. Hence, it makes sense to see that United are now being linked with a move to sign a new left-sided defender. At the end of the day, neither Shaw nor Malacia can be relied upon to stay fit.

Among the names who the club are seemingly looking at is AFC Bournemouth’s Milos Kerkez.

Journalist Ben Jacobs provided the information, via Reds fan channel, The United Stand. According to his latest information, Kerkez is ‘one to watch’.

United are scouting the 20-year-old Premier League full-back, along with Chelsea. Both the Reds and the Blues are said to be ‘big fans’ of the player.

Kerkez is already capped by Hungary, while this season, he has impressed for a Bournemouth side who are playing well in the Premier League this season.

The left-back only signed for The Cherries last summer, though he’s already made that starting spot his own thanks to some excellent individual performances.

United need someone who can come in and do a solid job when Shaw is out injured, while having the potential to replace the Englishman as the starting left-back in the long run. From what I’ve seen of Kerkez, he’s more than good enough to hold his own.

If the price is right, there’s certainly plenty of logic in making a move for Kerkez. However, I wouldn’t be keen on spending a large chunk of the transfer budget to bring him in – particularly if there’s a chance Alvaro Fernandez would be willing to come back to Manchester and do a similar job.

Do you think a Man United move for Milos Kerkez would make sense? Let us know your thoughts in the comment box below.
