Man United have Antoine Griezmann on their radar once again.
Yes, we’ve been here before. Manchester United are once again being linked with a move to sign Antoine Griezmann. It feels like the Reds show an interest in the Frenchman pretty much every summer, so why break the habit of a lifetime?
This time around, the story comes from Todofichajes in Spain. Over the weekend, they’d go pretty big, claiming that the Reds are showing an interest in signing Greizmann this summer.
It’s written that Ole Gunnar Solskjaer wants to sign a ‘man of weight’ in the attacking area of the field, and they see a ‘clear opportunity’ to make the move to sign the 30-year-old attacking superstar Griezmann.
Unless you’ve been living under a rock this week, Lionel Messi has left FC Barcelona due to the Catalan side having money problems. Apparently, United know of these struggles and they’re ready to make a ‘low offer’ to try and ‘close the deal’.
Griezmann, who is amongst the best attacking players in the world, would be a solid addition to any side in world football; including United.
With Edinson Cavani now 34, he isn’t someone who can start every week. Factor in United seemingly considering parting ways with Anthony Martial and there definitely could be an opening there.
That said, I just cannot help but feel this transfer rumour is too far gone. We’ve been here before with Griezmann, having been messed around on a couple of occasions. First when he made a big deal about staying with Atletico, then one year later when he moved to Barca.
Griezmann is 30 now and I’d argue his best years are now behind him. Will Solskjaer really put his trust in someone like this? Given the Baby Faced Assassin’s typically cautious nature, I’d have my doubts.
