Man United seem like the club best-placed to sign Paulo Dybala.
The Argentine striker, who currently plies his trade for Juventus, is out of contract in 2022.
What’s interesting is that Todo Fichajes claim that Dybala’s future is up in the air, before adding that United seem ‘best-placed’ to sign the superstar 26-year-old.
This story comes just days after Tuttosport (H/t Football Italia) claimed that Dybala wants to double his current wages. Right now, the forward earns £120,000-a-week. Obviously, not many club’s can afford to give into his demands.
At this stage, Dybala has won every major trophy on offer with Juventus. It’s understandable then, that the player is looking to either move on, or be rewarded with a hefty pay-cheque for his successes with the Old Lady.
So where would Dybala fit in at United?
It’s worth noting that United pushed hard to sign Dybala over the summer, though those attempts were eventually unsuccessful. That was due to doubts about his willingness to make the move to Old Trafford. If the player himself is still unsure about joining the Reds, then Ole Gunnar Solskjaer should walk away.
However, if Dybala’s mindset has changed, this would be a stunning coup. Dybala is versatile and he can play all across the front line – which is a real area of need for us at the moment.
Edward Woodward loves a marquee signing from a marketing standpoint. Dybala would sell shirts, fetch in social media clicks and attract the media’s attention.
With his contract running down, Dybala may well be cheaper than his typical market value. However, along with that comes interest aplenty. Make no mistake, United wouldn’t have it all their own way if Dybala does become available for a cut-price fee. In fact, it’d actually be supremely difficult to win that battle…
