Man United send chief scout to watch Martin Odegaard in action: report

Manchester United’s squad is definitely looking far healthier than it did a month or so ago. Signings have been made while players have returned from injury, though Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s work is far from complete.

This summer, the Red Devils must go hard again as they look to tinker the squad. Solskjaer’s had a preference towards young players and now, a somewhat predictable transfer rumour is doing the rounds…

We first saw the story on the Daily Mail, who claimed that United had send their chief scout to watch the talented 21-year-old, Martin Odegaard, in action ahead of a potential summer move. They were citing Spanish media outlet, El Diario Vasco.

After doing some digging, we found the El Diario Vasco story who say that Marcel Bout was indeed present as Real Sociedad beat Valencia 3-0 last weekend.

Odegaard is still on Real Madrid’s books, but he’s loving life while on loan in Sociedad, rediscovering that brilliant form he shown as a teenager about a half-decade ago now.

Madrid holds the option to send the Norweigian on loan back to Sociedad for another year, though the Daily Mail’s report says that a switch to Old Trafford could ‘now be on the cards’.

Odegaard’s tally of 7 goals in 25 appearances is certainly impressive, and although it feels like the attacking midfielder has been around forever, he’s still so young.

Perhaps Solskjaer will have more success when moving for this compatriot as opposed to Erling Haaland, though make no mistake about it, Real Madrid aren’t going to let him leave cheaply…
