Man United sent scouts to watch defender, Kevin Danso.
Despite Erik ten Hag’s excellent work so far, it’s clear that the Manchester United manager needs new players before he can take this squad to the next level.
The Old Trafford club still have an ownership status that remains up in the air, with no information on a preferred bidder given. It’s still going to take months before this process is close to being completed…
That said, money has to be spent in order to further improve the playing squad. The club need to give their gaffer as much financial backing as possible as he looks to close the gap on Manchester City and Arsenal.
A centre-back isn’t necessarily a top need, though one wouldn’t go amiss, particularly if Harry Maguire is indeed sold.
Well, according to 90min.com, United have eyes on Lens’ Kevin Danso.
Their story claims that several clubs had scouts watching their players over the weekend. From a United standpoint, they had eyes on the 24-year-old centre-back, with the Reds remaining in the market for a new defender.
On top of United, Liverpool, Newcastle, Aston Villa and Wolves were also watching Danso, who bagged an assist to showcase not only his defensive qualities, but also his attacking ability.
Danso is the perfect age to make the jump in quality to the next level. A Premier League move does seem somewhat possible this summer, though Lens will do their utmost to keep ahold of one of their key players.
If United make it into the top four, they’ll have the Champions League pull to offer Danso – and other potential signings. This could give United the edge in a transfer saga that does contain multiple potential buyers.
I wouldn’t expect to hear any concrete information until the season is done.
