Man United sent two of their top scouts to watch Birmingham City striker, Trevan Sanusi.
I’m a firm believer in Manchester United being at their best when they’re signing young players and developing that talent. Look at Marcus Rashford. Look at Alejandro Garnacho. Amongst many others.
It’s why I’m often against marquee signings. They’ve not worked as well as we’d all have hoped in years gone by, though I have more faith in Erik ten Hag nowadays.
The latest report from Football Insider seems to believe that United are going back to their roots, scouring the country for the best young players. This time, it’s Trevan Sanusi who the Reds have eyes on.
According to FI, United sent two senior scouts to watch the starlet, 15, when Birmingham City’s youth side played on Monday night.
The young centre-forward is on the radar of the Premier League’s elite, including United, after the player rejected a contract with Birmingham.
Sanusi turns 16 next week, with several top clubs keeping an eye on the striker. He’s looking to leave Birmingham City at some point soon.
The young man delivered a top performance on Monday night at U21 level, looking like the best player on the pitch despite being far younger than the majority of footballers out there.
United will not have it all their own way, though, with Chelsea and Arsenal keen on bringing in Sanusi, who has been capped by England at U15 and U16 level.
Again, this feels like a typical United move. They excel in these types of scenarios so it’d be nice if they can win the race to sign Sanusi. He’s looking like someone who could be a future star, but I guess you just never know.
