Manchester United and squad overhaul is a phrase I’ve used far-too-often this summer, and we’re barely a fortnight into the transfer window.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has a huge task on his hands – in terms of both buying and selling players.
Amongst those who could well be on the way out of Old Trafford is striker Romelu Lukaku. Earlier today, we covered a story from The Sun which suggested the 26-year-old has been told he can leave United – but only for the right price…
Just a few hours later, ESPN have given us another update, and they say that price is £80million, which would mean United would have made a £5million profit on Lukaku should the deal go through.
Apparently, Lukaku is a ‘top target’ for Antonio Conte who is set to be named Inter Milan’s new manager in the not too distant future, and don’t forget that the Italian tried to sign the striker back in 2017 when he was Chelsea manager.
If United can profit on Lukaku and he doesn’t fit into Solskjaer’s plans, then I’m all for the club letting him leave. I would be quite shocked if the Reds can make money on the striker, though, as this club has usually been pretty dreadful when it comes to selling…
