Manchester United could well have a new left-back on their books this summer, with the Red Devils closing in on a £50million move for Alex Sandro.
That’s according to The Times per The Metro, who says that Juventus now expect the Brazil defender to secure a move to Old Trafford when the season ends.
Apparently, the 27-year-old wants a move to the Premier League. He nearly got his chance last summer but a proposed move to Chelsea fell through, this time around, it seems like he’ll be moving to the red half of Manchester.
I think it’s no secret that United need a new, experienced left-back who can slot in seamlessly and play every single week. Sure, Ashley Young has done an excellent job but he’s almost 33 and his legs will only hold up for so long.
Then you have Luke Shaw. The Englishman is immensely gifted but Jose Mourinho just doesn’t trust him for whatever reason. Don’t be surprised to see him leave United this summer, paving the way for Sandro to come in.
All-in-all it’s a deal I’d totally get behind. Sandro would be a huge asset on both sides of the football and in the modern game, full-backs are more important than ever before.
