Man United set to complete January signing, 16-year-old to join club: report

Manchester United have had a surprisingly quiet January transfer window up to this point, with the club yet to bring anyone in, or let anyone go.

The squad itself certainly needs work, but it looks as though the Red Devils are set to continue with their mantra of signing and developing young players.

According to Le Courrier Picard, translated by the Manchester Evening News, United are set to complete their first winter window deal, by signing 16-year-old winger, Noam Emeran, from Amiens.

Apparently, the forward has agreed to make the move to Old Trafford as he deems it the best choice if he wants to reach the top level.

Juventus and Paris Saint-Germain were also keen on signing the Frenchman, but the fact that he’s willingly moving to the Theatre of Dreams instead is reassuring that this club is still amongst the best in Europe.

When you look at the teams who are trying to sign him, it indicates to me that he’s a talented young man. However, as is always the case when bringing in players of this age, you just never really know how quickly they’re going to develop.

Bringing in Emeran is a risk, but it’s one worth taking. Who knows, in a few years he may be a top talent capable of going right to the top, or, he may not even be involved in football anymore. That’s how cut throat this business can be. Hopefully, it’s the former.
