Man United are working to extend the contract of Victor Lindelof.

Manchester United Football Club have major problems right now. A victory against Brentford has to be just the start of a real positive run of form, though the performance felt like it was just papering over the cracks.

It all stems from poor decision making at the top. Time and time again, this club has given big money to players that don’t really deserve it, thus, making it hard to sell these footballers when an opportunity to do so could potentially arise. Harry Maguire this summer is perhaps the best example of that.

Another player who has had a hit and miss United career is Victor Lindelof, with United now looking to extend the contract of the 29-year-old. Once again, it’s to stop him leaving on the cheap next summer.

It’s the Daily Star with the claim. the Ice Man has just eight months left on his current deal, though United have an option to extend that by a further year due to a clause that’s in the contract.

As a result, the Reds reckon it’ll mean Lindelof’s value will increase to around £15m, should they choose to sell him in either January or the summer.

In our opinion, there’s absolutely no way Lindelof will be leaving in the mid-season window. The Swede has done a decent stand in job after wholesale injuries in that area of the field. He deserves credit for the form he’s showing (minus yesterday’s game against Brentford).

Apparently, Juventus and AC Milan are keen on Lindelof and there’s no doubt that he’d be a good signing for either club, should they firm up their interest with an official bid next summer.
