Man United have seemingly decided on their next permanent manager; Erik ten Hag.
Well, you have to give Manchester United credit where it’s due, they’re not messing around when it comes to hiring their next manager.
Time and time again this club has got caught up in the past, taking too long to make decisions, so it’s only fair we give them praise when they go about things correctly.
In regards to the appointment of Erik ten Hag, it looks as though Manchester United are closing in on their man.
According to ESPN, United are ‘set to finalise’ the appointment of the current Ajax coach as our next manager.
Ten Hag was interviewed by United last month, and was on a four-man shortlist alongside Mauricio Pochettino, Luis Enrique and Julen Lopetegui.
Apparently, United have now ‘settled’ on Ten Hag as their new manager, with the 52-year-old ready to leave the Dutch champions at the end of the season – to take control at United.
Sources have also added that Rene Meulensteen, a former first-team coach at United, is being considered as Ten Hag’s potential assistant.
The good news about getting this appointment in nice and early is that Ten Hag will have all the time needed to assess the squad and look at potential signings.
Ten Hag has a set style of play, he likes to give youth a chance and he loves ball control. This squad isn’t the best at pressing, either, so it will take multiple transfer windows. It’s up to us fans to remain patient and allow the Dutchman all the time he needs to settle and build a squad.
Either way, it’s super exciting to know that Ten Hag will be in the dugout at Old Trafford next season!
