Man United are set to hand Omari Forson his first Premier League start against Fulham tomorrow.
Manchester United just cannot catch an injury break right now. Over the last week or two, we’ve lost Lisandro Martinez for multiple months, Luke Shaw for pretty much the rest of the season. Now, Rasmus Hojlund.
Although the Dane is only out for two to three weeks, he could miss as many as five matches. We’re now in a situation where there are no fit central strikers available, with Anthony Martial also sidelined.
The likely scenario is switching Marcus Rashford to the number nine slot, a position where I feel he’s far less effective. It opens up a spot on the wing as a result, though. That’s assuming Erik ten Hag doesn’t place faith in a young striker like Joe Hugill.
The logical choice felt like bringing Antony back into the side, while some fans would like to see Amad finally being given his opportunity. Well, according to @AcademyScoop, the club are set to go in a different direction.
They believe that Omari Forson is all set to play, with the teenager to be handed his full Reds debut at home to Fulham tomorrow amid the ongoing injury crisis.
In a follow-up tweet, @AcademyScoop went on to say that Forson is preferred over Amad due to his skillset and potential, rather than a decision made based on training performances.

Forson has played a few games for the first-team this season, all of which coming off the substitutes bench late in games.
This will be the 19-year-old’s first proper opportunity to shine – and in front of 75,000 fans too. What a moment it’s going to be for Forson, who’ll be looking to follow in the recent footsteps of Alejandro Garnacho and Kobbie Mainoo. Both of whom have made that leap into the side over the last few months.
Forson has all the skills required to play at this level. There’s no doubt about that. The fact that he’s already ahead of Amad is the pecking order leaves me intrigued, while it also says a lot about where Antony falls into the manager’s plans at this moment in time.
Let’s hope Forson can make a positive impact tomorrow, which may well be the start of yet another long career for a Red Devils academy product.
