Man United set to make concrete £50m offer for Bruno Fernandes: report

After much posturing and early negotiations, it seems as though Manchester United are ready to make their interest in Sporting CP official – by finally making a bid for the midfielder.

The story comes from The Independent, who state that United will go in with a ‘concrete’ bid of £50million for the 24-year-old ‘over the next three weeks’ before the summer transfer deadline.

Apparently, the Portuguese club have already rebuffed United’s initial advances, but the Reds remain confident, feeling that they will be able to prise Fernades away from Lisbon – although they will likely have to bid ‘well over’ £50m to get the deal done.

Furthermore, any Fernandes deal isn’t dependent on Paul Pogba leaving Old Trafford this window, so potentially, the pair could be playing alongside each other in the heart of United’s midfield next month.

Finally, Fernandes is thought to be keen on the move as he’d be a first-choice option at Old Trafford, whereas at other interested parties, the 24-year-old wouldn’t be a guaranteed starter.

It’s just good to see the Reds finally try and get the ball rolling on this one. The rumours have been endless and they’re getting rather tiresome. Hopefully, Edward Woodward can get this move sorted, while also pushing the Harry Maguire transfer over the line, too.
