Man United will make their mind up on where Mason Greenwood’s future lies before the end of May.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock, you’ll know all about the Manchester United and Mason Greenwood saga that unfolded last summer.

At one point, it looked like Greenwood was set to be re-introduced back into the squad. However, fan anger and backlash stopped that from happening. Instead, the Englishman was loaned out to Getafe.

By all accounts, he’s doing fairly well over in Spain. Though, I firmly believe what’s happening on the football field shouldn’t be considered when looking at bringing him back to Manchester. It’s all about his character.

With INEOS and Sir Jim Ratcliffe now in charge, the option to bring Greenwood back has once again arisen. It’s now up to the Failsworth-born-businessman to decide what happens next.

The Sun have now learned that United are set to make a final decision on the 22-year-old’s future before the end of May, with the matter now a ‘priority’ for INEOS.

Sir Jim Ratcliffe would like to speak to a fans group and other senior officials before firmly making his mind up either way.

The Sun also state that manager Erik ten Hag would be open to Greenwood returning, but only if it ‘works for all parties’.

If it was purely a footballing matter, Greenwood would be back playing for the club. That is not the case. Hence, the matter is far more complex.

Reported interest from FB Barcelona could complicate matters, though I firmly believe it shouldn’t be a part of any decision made.

My stance hasn’t changed. I’ve heard the audio. I do not care how talented Greenwood is. I wouldn’t want him representing my club. Sadly, his good form coupled with the fact he only left on loan, this conversation was always going to crop up again. As a result, I have no idea what’ll happen when all is said and done.
