Anthony Martial and Manchester United are in contract talks over a potential new deal for the 22-year-old superstar.
In an exclusive, The Sun claim that the Red Devils will offer to extend his current deal, which currently has one year left remaining (which the option for a further year).
Martial has seen a massive reduction in minutes since Alexis Sanchez’s arrival in January. That has led to a down-turn in form from the Frenchman, which has obviously been concerning to manager Jose Mourinho.
With that said, we all know how immensely talented Martial is, and I don’t think anyone wants to lose such an immensely talented player when the only way is seemingly up for him.
It’s a tough decision for Martial to make. If he does put pen to paper, there is no guarantee that he’ll instantly return to Mourinho’s starting XI – and he may have to sit on the bench for a little while longer.
Personally, I feel as though it’s solely down to what the player wants. If he’s solely after playing every week, don’t be surprised to see him move on. If that’s the case, I just hope that United sell him abroad rather than to a fellow Premier League club. It’s clear they do want to keep ahold of Martial, though.
