Manchester United need a huge summer. Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was given evidence aplenty of that last night. Too many areas of this playing squad just aren’t good enough.
Amongst the problem positions
The Belgian, aged just 21, is currently on loan at Leicester City and making a real positive impression for The Foxes under Brendan Rodgers. However, he’s still an AS Monaco player and they’re remaining firm on their €45m (£38m) valuation.
Apparently, Leicester are in talks about the possible potential signing but United are now also keen, although at this juncture, making a move for Tielemans isn’t seen as a top priority.
It’s good to see United trying to be proactive. They’re drawing up a list of targets and if a move for one player fails it’s good to see that they have backup options.
Tielemans is young, has ample room for development and is getting adjusted to life in England. It could be an astute piece of business if Solskjaer decided to pull the trigger.
