Manchester United has signed Huddersfield Town and England U15 starlet, Rocco Fregapane, reports The Sun.
Apparently, the Yorkshire side has undertaken a major revamp of their academy setup due to a lack of success, with Jose Mourinho pouncing to sign Fregapane.
As we all know, Huddersfield Town dealt the Red Devils their first loss of the season over the weekend, but that hasn’t stopped the England starlet making the move to the Theatre of Dreams.
To be honest, I didn’t expect Mourinho to invest any time or money in youth, but it certainly seems as though he is trying to hold up the rich traditions and history of Manchester United.
Of course, we probably won’t get to see this guy in action for at least a few years yet, but he’s in the best place to develop and grow as a footballer.
There is always a gamble when signing young stars, but I always feel it’s worth the risk as they don’t command extortionate transfer fees, nor will they be on colossal wages. Hopefully, Fregapane is the real deal and he’s the next in a long line of youngsters to come through the Old Trafford ranks and go on to play at the highest level.
