Manchester United have signed talented midfielder, Will Vint, after a successful trial at Old Trafford. The young man will work with the Red Devils’ U18 side next term.
That’s according to ESPN, who say that Vint also had trials at Fulham and Everton, before United made their move and brought him in permanently.
The midfielder played for Real Colorado last term, and this step up in class is a huge opportunity for the 16-year-old to prove his worth.
Old Trafford has always been known as a hotbed for producing young talent. I don’t think that will change any time soon. Credit to Jose Mourinho for sticking with this mantra, as many expected that wouldn’t be the case when the self-proclaimed Special One was appointed as boss.
As is always the case, it’s always tough to work out exactly things will pan out with young players. However, due to their low wages, there is relatively no risk involved. Nobody is expecting Vint to be playing first-team football over the next couple of years, but if he’s involved within a half-decade, I’d certainly say the acquisition would have been a success.
