We’re yet to see any first-team Man United signings this summer, but the Red Devils are continuing to bolster the talent in their academy.
Manchester United Football Club are in the driver’s seat for that fourth and final Champions League spot. We’re now heading towards an all-important summer transfer window.
Well, no first-team additions have been made yet, though the 20-time Premier League champions are sticking with what they know – signing young players in the hope that they can make an impact in future.
The story comes from the Manchester Evening News, who state that United are ‘hopeful’ of announcing a trio of signings; Marc Jurado, Alvaro Fernandez, and Isak Hansen-Aaroen.
Apparently, the Reds are waiting on international clearance for all three youngsters, with a source hoping that the deals are official and confirmed ‘soon’.
We covered a story from Sport back in May who claimed that the Jurado deal was already done, with the young right-back set to leave FC Barcelona. He’s since posted a farewell message to the Catalan club.
Alvaro Fernandez has done likewise, with the left-sided defender coming from Real Madrid.
Hansen-Aaroen is the unknown, though he became Tromso’s youngest ever player this season, donning out for the first-team aged 15 years, 319 days.
If it isn’t broke, don’t fix it
This is case of United doing what they’re good at. You look at the exciting, overseas talents already at the club, like Tahith Chong and Hannibal Mejbri, and this new trio will only further strengthen United’s credentials in that regard.
Add those guys into a squad jam-packed with homegrown talents like Teden Mengi, Mason Greenwood and so many others, the future definitely looks bright at Old Trafford.
