Today, Manchester United have an opportunity. The Old Trafford outfit take on Everton, with a chance to close the gap on the Premier League’s top-four to just one solitary point.
Everton always provides a tough test, particularly on their home ground, as the Toffees have been rejuvenated by Carlo Ancelotti’s arrival upon Merseyside.
Ahead of the game, the eagle-eyed reporters over at the Manchester Evening News have spotted the travelling party arriving at the team hotel. In the end, it was a 21-strong squad, though one key star misses out; Anthony Martial.
After Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s comments pre-Club Brugge at home on Thursday, it always felt like Martial was probably going to sit this one out. I guess it’s best to let the Frenchman rest and recuperate rather than risk losing him in the long-term.
The good news is that Odion Ighalo will be feeling positive about his chances of starting, as will Mason Greenwood, who was included in the squad that’ll take on Everton.
As per usual, regular faces like David de Gea, Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire and Fred have all travelled. Hopefully, United can capitalise on this opportunity and bring all three points home to Manchester – although that’s far easier said than done.
Come on boys!
