It looks as though we’ve all just been given the news that we were expecting. According to the Sunday Sport, Zlatan Ibrahimovic has called time in England and at Manchester United, as he and his family prepare to move away from the United Kingdom.
Sadly, it will bring to an end an excellent one-year stay in the country for the 35-year-old, as he scored 28 goals before suffering that horrific ligamental damage injury, that ruled him out for the remainder of the campaign.
It was a season littered with highs, as the forward continued to constantly wow us all with moments of sheer brilliance. To see it end like this is a real shame, particularly as the Europa League final is being held in his home country of Sweden.
The report adds that the 6’5 forward has already begun saying his goodbyes to friends, and he is set to move out of his luxury home in Hale soon; although it was rented until the start of next season.
When Ibrahimovic took the decision to move to England and the Premier League, I was sceptical at first. However, my opinion of him has changed dramatically. Credit to him for taking such a gamble so late on in his career, and he really did deliver a season that the Red Devils fans will never forget.
Wherever he ends up, I want to wish him the best of luck!
