Man United star major doubt for EURO 2020 qualifying opener: report

Crikey, talk about doom and gloom, eh? This week has been a forgettable one for Manchester United – and it’s seemingly about to get worse with news of an injury for Marcus Rashford.

In an exclusive from the Daily Mirror, it is being reported that the 21-year-old is a major fitness doubt for England’s EURO 2020 qualifying opener against the Czech Republic this Friday night.

Apparently, Rashford has been playing through the pain barrier since the ankle injury he picked up against Liverpool towards the back end of February – which would explain the sub-par performances.

If there is any time to give Rashford a rest, it’s during this fortnight international break. Honestly, if there is any sign of a problem whatsoever then I’d expect England to send him back to United so he can get the proper treatment and time off.

At the end of the day, it’s the club who pay his wages and can you imagine how annoyed Ole Gunnar Solskjaer would be if Rashford re-aggravated the problem and was ruled out for any prolonged period of time?

That said, I do have concerns about United and how they’re rushing players back. It seems as though the players are coming back too quickly and only doing their bodies harm rather than good. Hopefully, that’s a trend we’ll get out of soon…
