Man United starlet could make match day squad for first time against WBA: report

Manchester United Football Club return tomorrow, after a two-week absence following the international break. The Red Devils take on West Bromwich Albion at Old Trafford, in a fixture that is always tricky; considering we’ve lost it twice in the last three seasons.

Ahead of that match, the Manchester Evening News could have just given us some rather exciting team news. Their reporter, Samuel Luckhurst, states that Matty Willock could be named in a first-team squad for the first time.

Willock, 20, is a midfielder by trade, and an inclusion in the eighteen would be a real show of faith from manager Jose Mourinho. However, with Ander Herrera suspended and Paul Pogba injured, you can certainly see the logic in the decision.

Even if it’s just a spot on the bench and he doesn’t get himself on the pitch, it’d be a massive morale boost for Willock, who’ll be hoping to get his opportunity to prove his worth to the Manchester United manager.

There was some other news revealed in the report by the MEN, as they say that both Juan Mata and Luke Shaw were not spotted with the first-team squad by their photographers. This would obviously be a real concern, particularly Mata who has been brilliant recently.
